Google's data center in Changhua County, opened in 2013, is the largest in Taiwan, with an estimated load of roughly 250 megawatts of power, The Reporter found in 2026. Taipower, the state utility, does not publish individual sites' loads. Google keeps upgrading the site, and at SEMICON Taiwan in September 2026 its infrastructure chief Amin Vahdat said the company expects its Taiwan operations to keep growing, without giving an investment figure or timetable.
Changhua is in central Taiwan, where Taipower has steered new large data centers since 2024, when it stopped supplying more than 5 megawatts to new data centers north of Taoyuan and pointed developers to the center and south of the island, where it says the power supply is more stable.
