The Brightspeed data center at 214 South Denver Avenue in Russellville, Pope County, Arkansas, a former CenturyLink telecom building, went up for sale in April 2025 in a sale-leaseback deal, brokers Cushman & Wakefield and Sage Partners said. The two-story, 44,650-square-foot building was built in 2000 and offered with a 20-year lease covering the whole property, plus at least 20 more years of renewal options. The asking price was $4.5 million, and the lease would bring in about $360,000 a year in rent.
The listing did not name the tenant, but images of the building point to CenturyLink, which rebranded its local phone business as Brightspeed after selling it, along with operations in 20 states including Arkansas, to Apollo Global Management in 2021. Brightspeed's own website says it has taken over CenturyLink's offerings in Russellville.
The business traces back to the Oak Ridge Telephone Company, founded in 1930, and later passed through US West and Qwest before becoming CenturyLink and then Brightspeed.
