Data centers in White County, Indiana: 1 project mapped

A developer with no confirmed record of building a data center wants to put four of them on farmland outside Wolcott. Blue Ladder Development's plan calls for four buildings of about 327,600 square feet each, two substations, a warehouse and an office on 322 acres south of U.S. 24, in the county's Mid-America Commerce Park. The company says it will use closed-loop cooling and bring its own power, and has not disclosed a capacity in megawatts.

Lead developer Josh Levine told the Lafayette Journal & Courier on July 1, 2026 that Blue Ladder had not yet bought the land or found a tenant. DCD reported the company may never have completed a data center before: Texas city emails, shared by opponents, show it zoned a parcel in Forney in 2021 but never built there. The plan surfaced after a June 29 open house that White County officials confirmed they were co-hosting with Blue Ladder.

The land is already in court. In August 2025, Wolcott residents Bart and Amy Snyder sued the county commissioners, the redevelopment commission and the landowners to overturn the rezoning of 184 acres near their home, arguing the applications lacked the notarized owner letters and site plan the zoning ordinance requires. A judge heard arguments on their summary-judgment motion on July 27, 2026; no ruling has been published since.
