Data centers in Bergen County, New Jersey: 1 project mapped

No data center has been proposed in Bergen County, but one site is being marketed for it. In August 2026 Fair Lawn residents found a leasing flyer for the former Nabisco cookie plant on Route 208, billed as "Gateway North 208," that listed "data center by right" and "240 MW of power." The owner, Greek Real Estate Partners, holds Planning Board approval from 2023 only for a 644,000-square-foot warehouse, and there is no data center application; any new plan would have to go back to the Planning Board.

"To be clear, those approvals do not authorize a data center at the property, and there are no pending applications before the borough for a data center at the site," said Mayor Cristina Cutrone, adding that the borough has "no interest in making Fair Lawn a destination for data centers." Still, data centers are one of the uses the redevelopment agreement between the borough and the developer permits. The site, zoned restricted industrial, sits near the Glen Rock border with a school and homes nearby.

Managing partner David Greek said the flyer was about four months old and the company would build the approved warehouse if it finds a tenant. "While we're waiting to find a tenant for that site, we're continuing to investigate alternative uses in case we need to pivot," he said. "We are not changing any of the existing approvals with the town at this moment." Across New Jersey, activists counted 93 towns that had banned data centers by early September 2026.
