Passaic County's one tracked data center is CyrusOne's NYM2 site in Totowa, an older colocation facility, a data center where multiple companies rent space, at 50 Madison Road. No new data center has been proposed in the county.
The nearest new proposal sits just over the line in Clifton and Nutley. Prism Capital Partners' ON3 campus, the former Hoffmann-La Roche headquarters on Route 3, won redevelopment approvals from both towns in 2025: a Clifton plan for housing, shops and a neighborhood market, and a Nutley plan letting an 11-acre parcel at 275 Kingsland Street host "a major data center and other permitted uses." Together the approvals allow up to 1,074 homes, about 90,000 square feet of retail, a research building and the data center.
No Passaic town has introduced a data center ban, and no hearing is scheduled here. Any data center on the ON3 campus would go before Nutley's planning board, since the data center parcel sits on the Nutley side of the line.
