Data centers in Vietnam: 2 projects mapped

Most of Vietnam's new data centers are planned in and around Ho Chi Minh City. Viettel broke ground in April 2025 on a 140-megawatt data center in Tan Phu Trung Industrial Park, Cu Chi, the country's first above 100 megawatts; its first phase was due to open in early 2026, and no opening has been announced. Completion is planned for 2030. Next door in Tan Phu Trung, Kinh Bac City Development has signed with Accelerated Infrastructure Capital and VietinBank for a nearly $2 billion campus with 200 megawatts of power for computers.

More projects are lined up at Saigon Hi-Tech Park. In February 2026 the UAE's G42 and a group of FPT, VinaCapital and Viet Thai announced a $2 billion partnership there, and CMC plans a $250 million data center starting at 30 megawatts. A joint venture of VNG and ST Telemedia was building two AI data centers in the city, scheduled to open in the first half of 2026. Singapore-based Evolution, Hathor and Frontier have announced a 52-megawatt project, Evolution DC VN HCMC.

Power is the limit. Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City have about 73 megawatts of data centers running, and a 100-megawatt project in either city faces a wait of two to three years for new power supply, according to a report carried by VnExpress in August 2026. Viettel opened a 30-megawatt data center at Hoa Lac Hi-tech Park outside Hanoi in April 2024 and its An Khanh data center, valued at about $665 million, in August 2025.
