Brookfield and its data center company Data4 plan an AI data center campus at the E-Valley business park on the former Cambrai-Epinoy air base in Epinoy, near Cambrai in France's Hauts-de-France region. The site is set to host up to 1 gigawatt of capacity, and Data Center Dynamics reported in September 2025 that work could begin in 2026.

Brookfield pledged 20 billion euros for French data centers at an AI summit in February 2025, 15 billion euros of it through Data4, and named Cambrai as one of the sites. At the Choose France summit in June 2026 it raised its planned French investment to 30 billion euros for two Data4 campuses, this one at Cambrai and a new one at Escaudain, which Data4 confirmed on June 12, 2026 at a cost of 5 billion euros for 700 megawatts.

Data4 has told Data Center Dynamics it expects to build its largest AI campuses away from Paris, including at sites like Cambrai, because AI workloads do not need to sit close to end users. "We're probably going to build the large campuses outside Paris," a Data4 executive said. Data4 has been owned by Brookfield since April 2023 and runs more than 30 data centers in six European countries, totaling around 1.5 gigawatts.
