CDC Data Centres formally opened its Brooklyn data center campus in Melbourne's western suburbs, Victoria, Australia, in February 2026, its first campus in the Melbourne region. The campus, at 594 Geelong Road in Brooklyn, has two data center buildings, has been operating since 2024, and is expected to reach more than 350 megawatts of power when finished, according to CDC.

Then-Premier Jacinta Allan opened the campus alongside ministers Danny Pearson and Daniel Mulino, and CDC founder and chief executive Greg Boorer told about 150 government and industry leaders at the event that "what we have built here is not only critical digital infrastructure, it is long-term economic infrastructure and job creation for Victoria." CDC says its investment there has generated more than 5,000 jobs in construction, engineering, skilled trades, security and operations, and the campus hosts Monash University's AI supercomputer, MAVERIC.

CDC's Melbourne page says the Brooklyn campus's first building, BK1, is fully operating while the rest of the campus and CDC's second Melbourne campus, at Laverton North, are still under construction; together the two campuses are set to give CDC more than 780 megawatts of capacity in Victoria. CDC says its LiquidCore closed-loop cooling system does not use water for the campus's primary cooling.

On September 22, 2026, Victorian Premier Ben Carroll, who succeeded Allan, announced new rules requiring data centers built in the state to supply their own renewable energy, stop using drinking water for cooling and stay at least 150 meters from homes. The rules will not apply to projects already approved, so they do not affect the Brooklyn campus.
