DBT Data Cyber Integration Center data center, Harrisonburg, Virginia

The Cyber Integration Center at 139 Tyco Street, on a nearly 13-acre site off Main Street in north Harrisonburg, Virginia, is a data center that GI DC Harrisonburg LLC has owned since September 2014, when it bought the building from DBT-DATA for $59 million. The buyer registered a San Francisco address tied to GI Partners, a Menlo Park, California, private equity firm that invests in technology infrastructure. No expansion, sale or new filing at the site has been reported since the 2014 deal.

DBT Data first bought the property in 2008, sold it to Harris Corp. for $41.6 million in 2010, then bought it back for $35 million in 2013 after Harris abandoned plans to run it as a cloud storage center. While DBT Data owned it, the company said the building held the only Tier III certification from the Uptime Institute in Maryland or Virginia at the time, plus LEED Silver certification and round-the-clock security staff.

DBT Development's president, David Tolson, said demand for federal government and private sector data storage in the Washington, D.C. area was enormous, and that the site would be run to federal government standards.
