Huawei Cloud opened its East China data center in Wuhu's Jiujiang District on June 14, 2024, completing the national layout of hub nodes for its computing and storage network. Huawei says the planned campus covers about 6,000 mu, roughly 988 acres, with room for up to 3 million servers.
The center uses liquid cooling, which Huawei says holds its average yearly power usage effectiveness at about 1.1. Fiber links keep network delay under 10 milliseconds to most of eastern and central China, about 5 milliseconds to Shanghai and Hangzhou, and about 2 milliseconds to Nanjing, according to Huawei.
