Princeton Digital JH1 (Sedenak) data center, Johor, Malaysia

Princeton Digital Group's JH1 data center campus in Sedenak Tech Park, Johor, Malaysia, has grown to a planned 200MW across four buildings, and the operator topped out the third building and began the fourth in December 2025, DCD reported. The first 52MW phase was completed in July 2024.

PDG bought 31 acres in Sedenak Tech Park in May 2023 from JLand Group, the property arm of the state-owned Johor Corporation, for a campus first planned at 150MW, with RM2 billion, about $450 million, earmarked for the first phase. It broke ground in October 2023 and delivered the first phase in 12 months, and says the full campus will see $1.5 billion invested. PDG signed an energy supply agreement with Tenaga Nasional Berhad for the whole campus, took a RM1.276 billion green loan, and says it will put solar panels on the roof.

Johor's chief minister, Onn Hafiz Ghazi, opened the first phase in 2024, calling it "one of the fastest projects to be launched in Johor." Since then his government has tightened its rules: in March 2026 he said the state will approve only data centers that use air cooling and will reject those demanding a high intake of water. Residents of Gelang Patah protested over water outside a data center construction site in February 2026, The Diplomat reported.

Sedenak Tech Park is one of Johor's busiest data center sites. Vantage Data Centers bought Yondr's campus of more than 300MW there in November 2025. YTL Power announced a gigawatt-scale campus at Sedenak Tech Park West in August 2026. PDG raised $1.3 billion from Stonepeak and a $1.2 billion debt financing in 2025 to fund its expansion across Asia.

New data center developments in Johor need the approval of the Johor State Data Centre Development Coordinating Committee, which reviews water and electricity needs.
