Vantage Johor (Sedenak Campus, formerly Yondr) data center, Johor, Malaysia

Vantage Data Centers now owns the data center campus in Sedenak Tech Park, Kulai, Johor, Malaysia, calling it JHB1 after completing its purchase from developer Yondr Group in November 2025. The site is operating, and Vantage says the nearly 73-acre campus will deliver more than 300 megawatts of power across three buildings once fully built. Yondr, which developed the campus, financed a first phase of about 98 megawatts in December 2024, expected to be ready for service in 2025, before selling the site to Vantage.

Johor's data center growth has put water and power under scrutiny. Chief minister Onn Hafiz Ghazi said in March 2026 the state approves only data centers that use air cooling and will reject projects that demand high water use, and a state committee reviews each project's water and electricity needs. Residents of Gelang Patah protested over water outside a data center construction site in February 2026, The Diplomat reported. New developments in Johor need approval from the Johor State Data Centre Development Coordinating Committee.

Yondr entered Malaysia in March 2022 and energized the Sedenak campus substation in March 2024, under an August 2023 electricity supply agreement with Tenaga Nasional Berhad for more than 300 megawatts of IT load through a 275-kilovolt substation. In December 2024 Yondr raised more than $900 million from lenders including DBS, Deutsche Bank, HSBC and the IFC to build that first phase.

Vantage's purchase was funded in part by a $1.6 billion investment in its Asia-Pacific platform from GIC and the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority, and made Johor Vantage's third campus in Malaysia. The campus uses direct-to-chip liquid cooling and is on track for EDGE certification, a green-building standard.
