The public hearing signs for this data center rezoning went up thirteen days before the hearing, and the law requires fifteen. That is what a local group found after asking Lowndes County for the rezoning file under Georgia's open records law. The signs were photographed on 25 June 2025 and the county commission heard the case on 8 July.

The application, REZ-2025-11, covers 719.46 acres on Coleman Road North, across the Withlacoochee River from Langdale Park, for a data center. The applicant is Langdale Capital Assets Inc., which received the property from The Langdale Company on 30 December 2009 for, in the deed's words, "TEN DOLLARS and other valuable consideration".

The dates run: application lodged 9 May 2025, fees of $908.48 paid on 19 May, completeness determined 9 June, adjacent owners notified by certified mail on 20 June, planning commission on 30 June, county commission on 8 July. The county first quoted $250 for the documents, which are the kind normally included in a board packet, and in the end charged $40.85.

Water is the reason the site matters. The rezoning materials document the land's closeness to the Withlacoochee River and its position over the Floridan Aquifer.

The developer is named as Langdale Capital Assets, with organised local advocacy logged through a group called Lowndes Citizens Against Data Centers, and a Valdosta moratorium running from 25 August to 24 October 2026. This is the only data center site recorded in Lowndes County. The nearest generation is a 70 megawatt biomass plant at a Valdosta paper mill, 21 kilometres away, and two 150 megawatt solar plants at about 30.
