Data centers in Ajman: 1 project mapped
Khazna Data Centers is building QAJ1 in Ajman, a 100-megawatt data center of 20 halls of 5 megawatts each, designed for dense AI chip clusters and cooled by liquid rather than air. The steel structures are complete and the first phase is due to be finished in December 2026, the company said. Power is to come from Etihad Water and Electricity Company.
Khazna announced the site in October 2024 as the largest in its portfolio. In February 2026 it won Uptime Institute Tier III certification for the design, the first stage of that certification; the finished building has not yet been certified. Khazna, part of the Abu Dhabi AI group G42, controls about 70% of the UAE's operating data center capacity, Rest of World reported.
Heat and water are the obvious questions in a desert. "The Ajman site is designed to meet those demands using advanced closed-loop liquid cooling systems and chip-to-chip cooling," chief strategy officer Johan Nilerud told Rest of World.
