Data centers in Williamson County, Tennessee: 1 project mapped

Williamson County's one tracked data center is a Compass Datacenters facility on Eddy Lane in Franklin, a 21,000-square-foot building with 1.2 megawatts of power that Compass completed in 2013, its first project anywhere. The county's other data buildings are older, smaller and enterprise-focused: Flexential runs sites of 80,726, 74,679 and 19,150 square feet in Franklin, Cool Springs and Brentwood, TierPoint has 52,000 square feet in Franklin, and Windstream has 22,000 square feet in Brentwood, according to a NewsChannel 5 inventory of Middle Tennessee facilities. None of these operators has announced a new project in the county.

One site is leaving the data center business: Vanderbilt Health has taken over the former AT&T data center at 402 Franklin Road in Brentwood, a building on 43 acres, to use for new health services.

Williamson County sits inside Tennessee's moratorium wave. WPLN counted nine Tennessee cities and counties that had passed data center moratoriums by June 2026, including Coffee County and McMinnville, and Nashville's Metro Council was advancing its own pause after a DC BLOX project near the Nashville Zoo drew a petition with more than 380,000 signatures. No Williamson County or city vote on a moratorium or a data center rezoning has come up.
