DC Blox data center, Chattanooga, Tennessee

DC Blox's Chattanooga data center, CHA1, at 807 East 16th Street in Chattanooga, Hamilton County, Tennessee, is an operating Tier III colocation facility linked directly to the city's Smart Grid, which reroutes power around outages. DC Blox markets the site to businesses in the "Gig City" and as a disaster recovery location for companies in Atlanta, Memphis, Knoxville and Nashville, with up to 2,000 square feet of tenant office space and carrier-neutral cross-connects.

On July 15, 2026, the Hamilton County Commission unanimously approved a one-year moratorium on new data centers in the county's unincorporated areas, running through July 15, 2027. County Mayor Weston Wamp said the goal is zoning restrictive enough to keep data centers out, telling commissioners that based on his talks with local utilities, data centers are not the right fit for Hamilton County. The moratorium covers unincorporated parts of the county, not the City of Chattanooga, where DC Blox's facility sits, so it does not apply to this site.
