DC BLOX Atlanta East Data Center Campus, Conyers, Georgia

DC BLOX is under construction on the first phase of its Atlanta East data center campus at 1726 Farmer Road in Conyers, Rockdale County, Georgia, the only data center campus so far cleared to build in the county. The company announced the campus in December 2023 with 216 megawatts of power committed by Georgia Power, and county filings put the full project at just over a million square feet across seven buildings. A hyperscale company will be the first phase's anchor tenant; DC BLOX has not named it.

In November 2025 a DC BLOX affiliate asked state and federal regulators for permits to build three more 40-megawatt buildings, five stormwater ponds and a large substation on about 53 acres next to the Rockdale Regional Youth Detention Center. That work would permanently fill wetlands, a pond and more than 1,200 feet of streams draining toward the Yellow River, which the developer proposes to offset by buying wetland mitigation credits.

The county's fact sheet says DC BLOX has agreed to pay for a substation, transmission lines and four miles of water and sewer lines, and that the campus will have 50 to 60 staff. Rockdale County has barred new data center applications since January 2026. On September 22, 2026, commissioners adopted most of a new development ordinance but put off its data center rules, extending the moratorium through October 9.

The draft would require a special permit for new data centers, closed-loop cooling, noise limits and setbacks of 250 feet from homes and 1,000 feet from schools. Resident Roderick Bohn objected to a clause exempting projects already underway that show "extensive discussions" and "significant expenditures": "Those words are not defined anywhere in this 300-page document." Commissioner Tuwanya Smith said, "I just don't understand why we have to rush."

The Rockdale County Board of Commissioners takes up the data center rules at 10 a.m. on October 6 at Assembly Hall, 901 Main St. in Conyers.
