Prosperity Drive Data Center, Silver Spring, Maryland

The Prosperity Drive Data Center is an existing data center in an industrial area on Prosperity Drive in Silver Spring, in Montgomery County, Maryland. St. Louis-based Sansone Group and Priseda, a local data center operator, bought the 214,000-square-foot building in August 2025 and plan to expand its power to as much as 100 megawatts. Their June 2026 leasing brochure promises 35.2 megawatts in phases by the end of 2027.

Most of the first power would come from an on-site natural gas plant: 4 megawatts in early 2027 and 20 megawatts in the second quarter. Another 11.2 megawatts would come from the grid late in 2027, with 49 more from the grid in design. The brochure also lists a study under way for 100 megawatts of on-site gas generation.

On July 28, 2026 the Montgomery County Council voted unanimously for an 18-month moratorium that bars the county from issuing data center permits, including for approved projects that do not yet have a building permit. It also banned the very largest data centers in the county for now. "We are not going to do things that shut existing data centers down," council member Dawn Luedtke said.
