Lumen Technologies runs three known data centers: College Park and Doraville, both in the Atlanta area, and one on Technology Drive in Pittsburgh. All three are established, already-operating sites built for network and colocation equipment, not the newer AI campuses driving local fights elsewhere. Lumen mostly does not build those bigger data centers; it sells the fiber that connects them to each other.
In February 2026 Lumen finished selling its home internet fiber business to AT&T for $5.75 billion in cash. It says it has since signed $13 billion of deals to link cloud companies' data centers to one another. Chief executive Kate Johnson told investors that enterprise network spending is shifting from office-to-cloud links, 36 percent of it today, toward cloud-to-AI links, now 64 percent and headed to 84 percent within three years.
