Amazon Web Services is planning a data center on a 13.47-hectare site at 54-80 Ferris Road in Cobblebank, a suburb of the City of Melton about 40km west of central Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. Amazon paid AU$60.5 million for the land, 150 percent more than the previous owner paid for it as a business park site in 2021.
The site sits next to Harness Racing Victoria's Tabcorp Park Melton at a Western Freeway interchange, within walking distance of a train station.
Melton City Council said in July 2026 that it is aware of three data center proposals in the municipality: the Cobblebank site, already under construction, and two more in nearby Truganina still in the planning phase. The council said its role is limited to providing feedback through the state planning process, run by the state's Department of Transport and Planning.
The council also addressed community discussion about a proposed data center in Plumpton, saying it had not received formal notification of any such project from the state government.
