Broken Arrow Data Center, Broken Arrow, Oklahoma

The company that was eyeing 51 acres between the Creek Turnpike and State Highway 51 in east Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, for a data center has walked away, city officials said in June 2026, after the letter of intent to buy the land expired and was not renewed. No reason was given, and no application for a Broken Arrow data center has been filed.

The city learned of the interest on April 21, 2026, when a site selector asked about a pre-development meeting for the privately owned tract at 8521 S. 209th East Avenue, just east of the Blue Bell plant. The land is zoned agricultural, so any data center would have needed rezoning to Industrial Light, with public hearings before the Planning Commission and the City Council. The company was never identified.

City Manager Michael Spurgeon went public early, acknowledging "the concerns citizens have about the potential impacts related to noise pollution, utility usages including water and electricity, and the environment." He also promised: "no City Councilor, myself, or members of my staff have been asked to sign a non-disclosure agreement about this potential project, and we will not sign an NDA." Gary Camfield, who has lived on the east side for more than 30 years, listed his worries: "Higher electric bill, higher water bills, noise and we don't get much out of it". In the end, the city said, no pre-development meeting was ever requested and no formal discussions took place.

Nearby in Rogers County, the Claremore City Council backed Beale Infrastructure's Project Mustang data center at the Claremore Industrial Park on May 18, 2026, after nearly two hours of public comment, and Google is planning two campuses in Muskogee County. Oklahoma City's data center moratorium appears to have affected the planned CloudBurst campus there.

If any company returns to the site, it would have to seek rezoning through the Broken Arrow Planning Commission and City Council in public hearings; the city says it will keep studying data centers and follow its established process.
