EdgeCore Digital Infrastructure opened the first building of its 72 megawatt Santa Clara data center campus, at the corner of Juliette Lane and Laurelwood Road in Santa Clara, Santa Clara County, California, in September 2025. The two-story SV01 offers 36 megawatts across 255,200 square feet; a second building is planned to bring the campus to its full 72 megawatts. "EdgeCore is setting the standard for how companies should conduct themselves in our community," Santa Clara Mayor Lisa Gillmor said at the opening.

EdgeCore broke ground in January 2023 and said the campus uses a closed loop cooling system that needs almost no water. Santa Clara has more standalone data centers than any other California city, and the city-owned utility, Silicon Valley Power, told the city in 2025 it had requests to add 500 megawatts of load on top of a peak of about 720, chief operating officer Nico Procos said. Two other data centers in the city, built by Digital Realty and Stack, stood finished but empty in late 2025 waiting for power, and the utility's $450 million system upgrade is on schedule for 2028.

"Have we overpromised and underdelivered?" Santa Clara Vice Mayor Kelly Cox asked at a November 2025 council meeting about Silicon Valley Power's spending. Councilmember Karen Hardy said the city has turned away proposed data centers because of grid limits and there will be no new ones beyond those Silicon Valley Power has already approved; the city says it collects $40.9 million a year from its existing data centers.
