QTS operates a small data center campus on Mission College Boulevard in Santa Clara, Santa Clara County, California, in the heart of Silicon Valley. QTS lists the Santa Clara data center campus at 4 acres with several buildings and 7.5MW of critical power, and says it is LEED Silver and Energy Star certified with seismic protection for equipment.

Santa Clara has more standalone data centers than any other California city, and the city-owned utility, Silicon Valley Power, has hit its limit. In 2025 the utility's chief operating officer, Nico Procos, said it had requests to add 500 megawatts of load on top of a peak of about 720, and Councilmember Karen Hardy said there would be no new data centers beyond those the utility had already approved. Two new data centers in the city, built by Digital Realty and Stack, stood finished but empty in late 2025 while they waited for power; the utility says its $450 million system upgrade is on schedule for 2028. "Have we overpromised and underdelivered?" Vice Mayor Kelly Cox asked at a November 2025 council meeting. City officials have also raised the land, water and diesel backup generators data centers use; the city says it receives $40.9 million a year from them.
