Vantage Frankfurt II (Raunheim) data center, Hessen, Germany

Vantage Data Centers' Frankfurt II campus in Raunheim, Germany, southwest of Frankfurt between Rüsselsheim and Hattersheim, is operating with 56 megawatts of computing power, about a 10-kilometer drive from Frankfurt International Airport. The company completed its first building there, a four-story structure accounting for 40 of the campus's 56 megawatts, in November 2022, after breaking ground on a second, 16-megawatt building, FRA22, that July.

"The data center industry provides services that are indispensable for a digital and sustainable future," said Raunheim mayor Thomas Jühe, who also pointed to the company's energy partnership with the city. Vantage says the campus draws power through its own on-site substation and uses a closed-loop cooling system designed for near-zero water use.

Vantage's first Frankfurt-area campus, a 55-megawatt site in Offenbach about 30 kilometers away, brings the company's total planned capacity around Frankfurt to 111 megawatts.
