Vantage Santa Clara II data center, Santa Clara, California

Vantage Data Centers' Santa Clara II data center campus, known as CA2, sits on 9 acres on Mathew Street in Santa Clara, Santa Clara County, less than two miles from the company's first Santa Clara campus. The campus has more than 541,000 square feet in three four-story buildings with 75 megawatts of power, served by Silicon Valley Power through three on-site 50-megawatt transformers. Vantage broke ground in 2018, and the first building, 21 megawatts and 175,000 square feet, was due in 2019.

Santa Clara has more standalone data centers than any other California city, and Silicon Valley Power, the city-owned utility, has hit its limit. In 2025 the utility had requests to add 500 megawatts of load on top of a peak of about 720, its chief operating officer Nico Procos said, and two new data centers built by Digital Realty and Stack stood finished but empty while they waited for power. Silicon Valley Power says its $450 million system upgrade to add capacity is on schedule for 2028.
