AdaniConneX is a 50/50 joint venture between Adani Enterprises, part of India's Adani Group, and the US operator EdgeConneX. It was announced in February 2021 with a goal of 1GW of hyperscale capacity across India, DCD reported. Its first campus, in Chennai, opened with a 17MW first phase and will reach 33MW; it has since worked on sites in Noida, where the construction site had a small fire, Vizag, Hyderabad, Pune and Mumbai. In April 2024 it signed up to $1.44 billion of sustainability-linked construction financing with eight international banks, bringing its financing pool to $1.65 billion, Business Standard reported. DCD's coverage of that deal noted that the Adani Group had come under fire in 2023 after the short-seller Hindenburg Research alleged stock manipulation, accounting fraud and money laundering, claims the conglomerate denied.
Its largest commitment is in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. Adani Group broke ground on May 3, 2023 on an over-200MW "Integrated Data Center and Technology Business Park" in the Madhurawada area, to be hosted by AdaniConneX and powered by 100 percent renewable energy. Then-Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy said it would bring a submarine cable from Singapore, and his successor, N. Chandrababu Naidu, has promoted the state as "India's premier investment destination, powered by speed, trust, and ease of doing business." On April 28, 2026, Google broke ground on its $15 billion AI hub in Vizag, three campuses approaching a gigawatt in combined capacity, DCD and CRN Asia reported. AdaniConneX and Nxtra by Airtel are to build and operate those campuses, with Google running its AI and cloud workloads on them. The Adani Group said in December 2025 it would invest up to $5 billion in the Vizag campus, which is due to be commissioned by July 2028.
