Jumping Bison LLC, an Indianapolis-based company, plans a multi-building data center in Greensburg's Business Enterprise Park along Interstate 74, across from Honda's auto plant. The city annexed and zoned the land for industry in 2024 and approved a 10-year, 60 percent property tax break, and DCD reported plans for $800 million across two phases on a 550-acre site. No ground has been broken, and the company behind Jumping Bison has not said who it is.
On September 21, 2026, the County Commissioners adopted a moratorium barring data centers of 250 megawatts or more from applying to operate in the county until December 31, 2026, while a new comprehensive plan and zoning rules are written. It does not cover land annexed into a city, so it does not reach the Jumping Bison site.

Residents organized once the plans became known. A Change.org petition from the Coalition to Protect Decatur County Against AI Data Center, signed by more than 950 people, said residents "were not properly informed" of the plan.
In January more than 40 residents filled a City Council meeting, where Councilor Jamie Cain said the city could supply the water: the data center would use less than 3 percent of the treatment plant's capacity and become the city's fifth-largest water customer. The company is paying for all infrastructure, Cain said, and Hoosier Energy, not the city, supplies the power. He said no decision on the project was pending and there was no timeline.
