Data centers in Mifflin County, Pennsylvania: 1 project mapped

Pennsylvania Data Center Partners, working through a subsidiary called Lewistown Development LLC, wants to build a six-building, 1.54 million-square-foot data center complex on about 245.5 acres of farmland in Granville Township, near Lewistown, off Loop Road. The company has not said how much power it would draw. Granville's zoning officer returned the application as incomplete in July for lacking a traffic study certification, and the developer has appealed; the Granville Township Zoning Hearing Board hears that appeal at 7 p.m. on October 1 at the township building on Helen Street, and a related hearing before Judge Aaron Gingrich at the county courthouse follows on October 9.

The township's board fell apart as the fight dragged on. Vice chairman Joseph Fiore Jr. resigned in August and chairman William Page resigned September 17, leaving Terry Stewart as the only supervisor and no quorum to hold meetings or vote on the application. A Mifflin County Court of Common Pleas hearing was scheduled for September 23, 2026 to appoint two interim supervisors; no result has been published. Residents have pushed back over well water, noise and power bills. "I was born here. I've lived here most of my life. But who could listen to that?" resident Corri Hockenberry told local station WHP, adding she would move if the project is built.

Mifflin County commissioners adopted their own data center rules for the county subdivision ordinance in August, separate from the township fight. "We believe we have a very defensible amendment," county planning director Jim Lettiere said.
