Middlesex Township supervisors approved the final plan for the PAX-1 data center complex near Carlisle in Cumberland County, Pennsylvania. PowerHouse Data Centers and Pennsylvania Data Center Partners are behind the wider project. The approval moved the first phase toward construction.
Residents protested the plan and asked the supervisors to delay the vote until a vacant board seat was filled. Don Geistwhite Jr. and Phil Neiderer approved the agenda items with a two-person quorum. The proposal is one of three campuses planned for a 700-acre site, and residents have raised concerns about power, water and traffic.
