Project Pumpkin 2A is a $400 million, 761,000 square foot data center building registered at 8830 County Road 21 near Miami, in Roberts County, Texas, by IP Meitner Land LLC, an affiliate of the energy developer Intersect. It is part of the Meitner Energy Center, which Google and Intersect announced on June 4, 2026 as a Google data center built alongside more than a gigawatt of new wind, solar and battery storage across Gray and Roberts Counties.

The state register lists work from February 6, 2026 to December 14, 2027, designed by HDR Engineering, and names the county as Gray. DCD called that a likely error, since Miami is in Roberts County, about 23 miles northeast of Pampa. Most of the site's power is to come from the co-located renewables from day one, with on-site gas firming a minority share, and Google says the building will be air-cooled with water limited to domestic uses such as restrooms. Google closed its purchase of Intersect in March 2026. Alphabet had announced the $4.75 billion cash acquisition in December 2025, and Meitner is the first project the two have announced since.

"Our partnership with Google and Intersect has been instrumental in aligning this infrastructure initiative with our Gray County priorities," Gray County Judge Chris Porter said. Google is also setting up the Caprock Workforce Hub, an 800 acre camp for up to 3,500 construction workers in nearby Wheeler County. In Pampa, Mayor Mike Borger said Gray County commissioners required waterless cooling as a condition of the tax abatement, and that the county's tax base would grow from $1.6 billion to $4.6 billion in 10 years. Pampa Chamber of Commerce chief Cortnie Hale told KVII that residents' concerns about water are valid, and Google declined an interview about the project's economic impact and water use, providing a statement instead.

Google said on June 4, 2026 that the data center had recently begun construction.
