STACK Infrastructure is building its PHX01 data center campus on 100 acres at Litchfield and Lower Buckeye roads in Avondale, Arizona, in Maricopa County west of Phoenix; the city says the first of three planned buildings, totaling about 1 million square feet, is expected to be completed in 2027. STACK's own listing gives the campus 225 megawatts of power, with closed-loop cooling to cut water use.

STACK announced the project in June 2020 as a 150-megawatt data center on a 79-acre site in the Avondale Techplex, with a 10-year tax waiver and state and local sales tax rebates on data center equipment and labor. "The access to power, fiber, and land provides outstanding opportunity for scale, and the State of Arizona and City of Avondale teams are true partners," said Brian Cox, then STACK's chief executive.

Avondale residents raised water use first, followed by the size and look of the buildings, the city says; Avondale was among the first cities in the region to restrict water-cooled data centers and now allows only closed-loop, air-cooled facilities. Avondale's water utility, like Mesa's and Phoenix's, caps water use for industrial facilities and requires developers to buy supplemental water to go over the cap.

Two more data center campuses are coming to Avondale: Prime Data Centers broke ground in May 2026 at Avondale Boulevard and Lower Buckeye Road, and QTS plans an eight-building campus of about 3.2 million square feet. The city reviews each data center project for utility capacity, traffic, noise and neighborhood fit before it moves forward, and STACK's first building is due to open in 2027.
