Sabey Data Centers data centers: 8 sites mapped

Sabey Data Centers, owned by the Seattle real estate firm Sabey and National Real Estate Advisors, runs eight sites in Washington, New York, Texas, Virginia and Indiana. Its biggest project is a $4.3 billion, two-building campus on 130 acres at 6400 Kentucky Avenue in Decatur Township, on Indianapolis' southwest side. The city's Metropolitan Development Commission approved it in March 2026 and added more than $240 million in tax breaks on September 16, 2026; Sabey expects to finish by 2031.

Sabey asked only for zoning variances, not a full rezoning, so the district's city-county councilor could not call the case to the full council. "This was deliberate to deprive us of our rights," said Pat Andrews, who chairs the land use committee of the Decatur Township Civic Council. "It does not belong in the middle of these residences." Seven Decatur Township residents are suing to block the project, and Indianapolis has since passed a moratorium on new data center projects that runs through December 31, 2027.

Elsewhere, Sabey started vertical construction in July 2026 on a 120 megawatt campus in Umatilla, Oregon, planned in two buildings. In Butte, Montana, it walked away from a 606 acre land deal in May 2026 after finding an existing tenant, REC Silicon, held first right to buy it. In Quincy, Washington, where Sabey and other companies now use 37% of the local utility's power, new construction has slowed as the grid nears its limit.
