OpenAI Stargate UAE data center, Al Dhafrah, Abu Dhabi

Khazna Data Centers, the G42 subsidiary building Stargate UAE with OpenAI, Oracle, Nvidia, Cisco and SoftBank, is under construction on a 1,000 megawatt AI data center cluster in Al Dhafrah, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. It sits inside the 5-gigawatt UAE-US AI Campus, a 19.2-square-kilometer site that The National describes as about nine times the size of Monaco. The agreement was signed in May 2025 during President Trump's visit to the UAE, and the cluster will be operated by OpenAI and Oracle.

"That first phase of 200MW will be in place and ready at some point in the third quarter of next year," Khaldoon Al Mubarak, managing director and group chief executive of Mubadala, said in December 2025. By then more than 5,000 workers were on site and more than 100,000 cubic meters of concrete had been poured, with steelworks weighing 1.5 times as much as the Eiffel Tower, he said.

G42 said in October 2025 that it had completed procurement of all long-lead equipment and expected full buildout of Stargate UAE within three years. Hassan Alnaqbi, chief executive of Khazna, said the project is "about 10 square miles, not only to build the data center, but the entire ecosystem around it," and aims to serve more than 3 billion people within a 3,000-kilometer radius.

In October 2025, Khazna's Gareth Dennison said that three months earlier the whole construction site had been covered by a 40-foot-high sand dune. The United States authorized the export of up to the equivalent of 35,000 Nvidia GB300 Blackwell chips to G42 in November 2025, which Al Mubarak compared to going from 5 to 250 kilometers an hour.

The 200-megawatt first phase was scheduled for the third quarter of 2026; no result has been published.
